Academic overview
Academic rigor and intellectual development are the cornerstones of Jesuit education. Our students expect and receive quality instruction in a supportive environment of educators. The primary mission of our faculty at Seattle University is to teach, not conduct research, and they do so in small classes that encourage interaction.
As a comprehensive urban university, Seattle University embraces people from all faith traditions, economic and social backgrounds, ethnic groups and professions. Learning among peers is often intensified in the kind of graduate school setting Seattle University provides. They bring enriching life and work experiences to their examination of new concepts and content. Most of our 1,800 graduate students work full-time while pursuing their degree.
