Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship

Description: Undergraduate students who demonstrate both financial need and qualify for the Federal Pell Grant are welcome to apply to the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program.  This program supports students who might not otherwise be able to participate in study abroad due to financial constraints.

Students studying in non-traditional locations such as Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Latin America, and the Middle and who have been traditionally under-represented in study abroad are given priority (i.e. underrepresented majors, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds, students with disabilities, non-traditional students, etc.)

The award assists in the costs assocaited with study abroad including: program tuition, room and board, books, local transportation, insurance and international airfare.

Amount: Varies: $4,000-$8,000

To Apply: Speak with the on-campus Gilman representative, Mary Beth Falkner, in the Education Abroad Office (206-296-2226) to begin the process and determine your elibility. Students can also complete an interest form online through the Horizons system.
