Eligibility

Participation on a study abroad program is neither a requirement nor an entitlement of a Seattle University degree, however, several majors and scholarship programs require their students to have some type of international experience.

Eligibility for participation includes:

  1. Good academic and conduct standing.
  2. Appropriate academic preparation as defined by the department sponsoring the program.
  3. Skill and willingness to engage in demanding cross-cultural academic projects.
  4. Flexibility, confidence and fortitude in ambiguous independent situations.
  5. Aptitude to rely on a small, close-knit community of program participants for personal support.
  6. Ability to live and study effectively without requiring regular access to specialized medical care, counseling or other psychological support services.

Specfic programs may have additional requirements. Consult with faculty director or program provider for additional eligibility criteria.
