Academics: Sogang University offers students the opportunity to develop cross-cultural competency while gaining a global perspective through experiential learning in a Korean context. Founded in 1960 by the Society of Jesus, Sogang University offers over 24 majors and 10 interdisciplinary programs to their undergraduate population of over 8,000 students. In addition to taking classes alongside their Korean counterparts, exchange students have the opportunity to intern at major multinational businesses such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and Hewlett-Packard during their length of stay.
Housing: International students are usually accommodated in student dormitories and are provided with two meals per day at the University cafeteria. The cost is approximently $1,600, but may vary based on placement. Students are responsible for additional meals. See the Sogang Housing Website for more details.
Program Cost Estimates: As an exchange program, you will pay Seattle University tuition for the duration of the program. Room and board will be paid directly to Sogang University and varies in costs (see above). Health insurance, round-trip airfare, personal expenses, etc. will be additional costs.
Eligibility:
- High degree of independence and initiative
- Good academic and conduct standing
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- A proficiency exam is not required for exchange students
