Credit-Bearing International Program Directors
"Study abroad programs, whether they are a year or a month long, have to work to strike a balance between the curricular and the co-curricular. The purpose of a U.S. school creating a study abroad program is not to replicate an existing program on foreign soil but rather to create a program that accomplishes certain academic goals by incorporating the unique co-curricular activities available when studying in a foreign country."
- Ernest Guerrero, Making the Most of Short-Term Immersion
International Educator, July and August 2005
It is the goal of the Education Abroad Office (EAO) to assist faculty in developing high-quality short-term programs that offer a connection to our mission and values of academic excellence, diversity and empowerment of leaders for a just and human world. Our study abroad courses should reflect elements that enhance the curriculum in ways that can not be accomplished by offering it on campus alone.
