Information for Providers

Thank you for your interest in visiting Seattle University. Providers are able to schedule a table on campus. We appreciate you sharing your time, expertise, and passion for global awareness with our community as well as your adherence to the following guidelines while visiting campus:

Scheduling

Scheduling a table is limited to twice per academic year and from 10am-1pm. Your organization may be scheduled concurrently with another provider; however, the number of providers per day is limited to two. Send your request to schedule a table to: educationabroad@seattleu.edu

Materials

We have limited storage space and do not accept materials that are sent ahead of time. Please call us if you have an exceptional request.  If you have materials remaining after your informational session, you can stop by the Education Abroad Office to see if any are needed in our resource library.  If we do not, be prepared to ship them or take them back with you.

Coordination with SU

Visitors must stop by the Education Abroad Office in James C. Pigott Pavilion for Leadership (PAVL), room 124 (#B1 on the Campus Map) before setting up at a table. We will provide materials necessary for students to apply to Non SU programs, which you are asked to distribute along with your own materials. Please return any unused SU materials to the Education Abroad Office.

Location

Tables are set up either in the Pigott Atrium Lobby (#38 on the Campus Map) or in the Student Center (#16 on the Campus Map).  The Education Abroad Office will inform you of your exact location.

Set up

Set up may begin no earlier than 30 minutes prior to your reserved time.

Table

Unless otherwise requested, a 6' table and two chairs will be provided. Tablecloths are not be provided.

Meeting with Education Abroad staff

We ask that you pre-arrange a meeting time if you would like to update us about your program. Thirty minutes is the approximate time available.

Important Information for Non-SU Program Participation

Transferring Credits

Credits earned while studying abroad on a non-SU program are treated like transfer credits from any other U.S. college or university. Students must meet with an EA advisor and academic advisor in order to ensure that the credits will transfer.

Tuition

Tuition is paid directly to program providers.

Financial Aid

Federal and most State aid is transferable; SU scholarships and grants are not. Students need to see Fran Henderson in the Financial Aid Office for details.

Semester vs. Quarter Systems

Most non-SU programs are on the semester system. Students must talk to an EA advisor about cost and credit transfer differences.

Helpful Information

Lodging

There are many nearby hotels, but the Silver Cloud (on the corner of Broadway and Madison) is closest as its located across the street from SU. Be sure not to book one of the many other Silver Cloud Seattle locations unless you plan on visiting other schools.   http://www.silvercloud.com/reservations.htm.

Parking

Parking is available at 12th and Marion Street (P40 on the Campus Map). If this lot is full, you may have to park in the Cherry Street garage on James Street (P5).  A daily parking pass costs between $10 and $12 and may be purchased using the parking automats in both the Cherry Street garage and the 12th and Marion parking lot. You may pull up to Pigott to unload if you wish and then move your vehicle to one of the parking lots.

Food

There are cafes in the Pigott lobby and on the 2nd floor of the Student Center where you may purchase food, drinks, etc. to enjoy during your visit to Seattle University. Our campus is surrounded by many other restaurant and cafe options that you might enjoy as well.
