CIMAS in Ecuador
Seattle University is a cooperating member of the Washington State Cooperative Development Program in Ecuador.

Intensive Language & Culture Program: This program is offered summer quarter only. Students study Spanish language intensively through class work, lecture, seminars, workshops, field trips and cultural events. Study of Latin American culture is integrated into language instruction and incorporates historical, anthropological, political, and economic dimensions. The program is taught completely in Spanish with home stay family lodging to maximize opportunities for oral proficiency.
Program Components:
- 10 week quarter of language and culture study in Quito
- Program taught completely in Spanish
- Field trips
- Home stays with Ecuadorian families
- On site orientation
Students will receive 16 quarter credits for each program.
Program Dates:
Summer Quarter -- Late June – Late August
Eligibility:
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Two years of Spanish (at least one of which must be at the college-level) is required.
Application: Complete the online SU Horizon's Application (available November 1, 2012). Please read the directions carefully and make certain to submit all supporting documentation with your application.
