As the 2009-11 Wismer Professor, Dr. Anthony's scholarly agenda will focus on the question of how changes in structural inequity take place, particularly in terms of the role of the developing world in previous and on-going negotiations around the norms and rules of the global economy and by examining the potential comparability of the economic, social, and political development of Los Angeles, California and Cape Town, South Africa.
