Chardin Gardin - A joint venture between Chardin Residence Hall students and the Grounds department, students are responsible for a plot of land and learn first hand about food production. Ciscoe Morris Biodiversity Garden - The garden will highlight design strategies and maintenance practices for promoting diversity of wildlife and beneficial insects, highlighting the unseen part of the ecosystem in the soil profile. The garden will demonstrate the importance of diversity of plant material, the impact of escaped ornamental species, and alternatives to invasive plants. (in progress and will be located behind Loyola) Ethnobotanical Garden - Plants used by Pacific Northwest native peoples for food, medicine, utility and spiritual practices (located between Cherry St., the Student Center, upper mall and the Library). Go to the garden's web page. Healing Garden - Medicinal plants (located in front of Garrand), all the plants planted there are used for medicinal purposes in various cultures.
Kitchen Garden- Partnered with campus food provider Bon Appetit in the selection of herbs, fruits and heirloom vegetables for use in preparing campus meals. (located along the north wall on the Student Center’s second floor) Shakespeare Garden- Highlights plants mentioned in Shakespeare’s plays (located along the south wall of the Fine Arts Building)
