Dylan Hoffman
About Dylan:
Hello all! My name is Dylan Hoffman, and I am this year's Executive Vice President of Finance. I am a senior International Business major here at Seattle University, with minors in Economics and Philosophy. I'm from Sacramento, California, and am a die-hard advocate for Cali! I love the sun, beaches, playing sports, eating out, socializing, watching movies...really anything, as you can see.
Dylan's goals: I have a lot of goals specific to my position, including re-working the appropriations process for student clubs and promoting financial wellness and knowledge for the SU undergraduate student body.
A big change in branding occurred when student government moved from being ASSU to SGSU, and I want to take that opportunity as a fresh start in terms of how student government exists with the greater SU student body. I want to develop a new relationship between SGSU and the student body, to achieve new levels of inclusivity and conversation so that student government is aware of existing concerns and issues, and students know that they are being heard. I want SGSU to be a strong and ever-present force on campus, and I want to see our campus become more united under the idea of what it means to be a student of Seattle University. This includes pride in our athletic program, but also extends far beyond that, a point of which I am well aware.
Why he loves Seattle University:
I love being a Seattle University student. I love the personal feel a small campus like Seattle University brings, and knowing a ton of people as I walk to class or through C-street. I appreciate the great care and generosity with which students are treated by faculty and staff; professors and advisors alike work exceedingly hard to make sure you succeed. And, being a part of it, I love the student body of SU. The drive, the passion, the willingness to try new things and start new friendships make me realize that I made a great choice in coming here. I care a great deal for my fellow schoolmates, and that is why I want this year to be a success for SGSU. I have high hopes for this year, and will be out and about as much as possible making sure things are getting done. I look forward to all that we can accomplish together, and I will try to the best of my abilities to be the best representative possible.
