Appropriations
Welcome to the Appropriations webpage and thank you for your interest in the Appropriations process!
SGSU works hard to better the college experience for Seattle University's undergraduate student body, and the appropriations program is one way in which we accomplish that.
Every year, SGSU sets aside a large portion of its budget for the student clubs and programs that need financial support in order to reach their on and off-campus goals. SGSU is happy to help fund the many great student events and programs that occur every year. Although we do not have the resources to fully fund every request we get, we work hard to provide as much support as we can.
The appropriations process has been specially-tailored with you and your group in mind. The required form is informative and easy to fill-out, and the process itself is simple. As long as deadlines are met (which are noted on the form itself) and the requirements met for the presentation, your request will be considered. In considering all club requests, SGSU strives to be as objective and impartial as possible in the allocation of funds.
In order to achieve new levels of transparency with the clubs requesting money from SGSU, I have included below our total appropriations budget for the 2012-2013 school year, along with the divided amounts that have been set for each meeting. These numbers are the amount of SGSU's total budget that we have allotted for that specific meeting. Unfortunately, unless under highly unusual circumstance, the appropriations committee is not able to grant more than the allotted amount for each meeting. Please keep these numbers in mind as your club moves through the appropriations process, and again, know that our resources are limited, but we will do the best we can to meet all requests fully.
Total SGSU Appropriations Budget: $68,000
Budgeted Amounts for Each Appropriations Meeting
October 20th: $4,000
November 17th: $6,000
January 12th: $15,000
March 2nd: $20,000
April 20th: $13,000
June 1st: $10,000
All forms of relevance, including the appropriations form, are located on the left hand side of this webpage. On behalf of SGSU, I would like to thank you again for your interest in this process, and I look forward to working with you to aid in the endeavors of your club.
Your Vice President of Finance,
Dylan Hoffman
