Letters of Reference

  • How do I request a reference letter?

    Select a professor who knows you well

    Arrange a meeting with the professor to discuss the opportunity.  

    If the professor agrees to write a letter, you should provide some, or all of the following applicable items:  

    •  Your draft personal statement for your application.  
    •  A copy of your college transcript (unofficial copy is acceptable).  
    •  A sample of your best written work. 
    •  A complete list of schools or organizations to which you are applying, along with due dates and mode of application.
    •  A signed and dated  Reference Letter Request
