Research Help

  • If you're having trouble organizing your research, rooting out the most pertinent information, or if you don't even know where to begin, we've given you the first step: take the Research Path

  • For more personalized help -- if you'd like to get advice or feedback on your research, or the location of a resource -- you can ask a librarian.

  • You can also try a research consultation. A librarian can work with you on defining a topic and finding resources.

  • Citing Sources Guide
    • EndNote - Endnote allows you to organize bibliographic citations and to create bibliographies. Time-saving features allow you to download references retrieved from Lemieux Library databases into an EndNote library and create bibliographies in a variety of formats (such as APA, MLA, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.) using Microsoft Word or WordPerfect.

  • 5th Avenue Theatre: A beautiful venue for all kinds of performing arts, the 5th is a popular choice for visiting musicals.
  • ACT: A Contemporary Theatre: Of "Late Night Catechism" fame. Seattle's first theatre to focus on bringing new plays to the stage, and still dedicated to supporting new talent.
  • Artswest: West Seattle's Art Center
  • Circus Contraption: A performance troupe grounded in the circus arts. A non-profit organization with trapeze aerialists and accordion players in an animal-free zone.
  • INTIMAN Theatre: Its name derived from the Swedish word for "intimate", the INTIMAN seeks to develop an intellectual relationship of this kind between the playwright and his audience, through its emphasis in "international dramatic literature."
  • Jet City Improv: Based in the University District, Jet City Improv is a great way to spend a hilarious evening with friends! If you love Mystery Science Theater, don't miss out on their "Twisted Flicks".
  • Meany Hall: This UW venue hosts a huge variety of international musicians, actors and dancers -- all part of the annual UW "World Series." Check out also their student performances.

Its gorgeous interior showcases many Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, popular bands and cultural shows. Also check out their Silent Movie Mondays.
  • ReAct: The Repertory Actors Theatre: ReAct is known for its diverse and "non-traditional" casting -- they cast players of different backgrounds and skill-levels, indiscriminate of race, religion, sex, age or experience.
  • Seattle Children's Theatre: Our favorite childhood stories brought to the stage, from Bunnicula to The Secret Garden.
  • Seattle Opera: Keeping this beautiful art form alive and appreciated with glorious reproductions of the works of Wagner, Puccini, Mozart, Bizet and other classical composers.
  • Seattle Public Theater: Located in the Greenlake area, SPT aims to "create community through the performing arts" by bringing together people of diverse backgrounds and experience levels through a common passion for theatre.

  • Seattle Symphony
  • Taproot Theatre Company
  • Theater Schmeater: Brings to us the recognized classics while searching for what could be the greats of our time. In their search, Theater Schmeater makes a point of including new plays from different countries and walks of life in their repertoire. Known for their summerly "Free Classics in the Park."
