Places to study or meet in the Library

Are you looking for a quiet place to study? Or a place to meet and work on a group project? Lemieux Library offers several options to meet your needs (below are links to our library maps if you would like to view the area locations):

  • Consulting Cubicles

Two new "consulting cubicles" are available on the second floor. Each has a large computer screen, a table, and chairs.

Staff from the Writing Center and librarians may reserve these cubicles. A red piece of paper noting the date and time of the reservation will be posted on the cubicle; students are expected to let librarians and staff use the space when it has been reserved.

For students, these cubicles may not be reserved; they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Individual Study Carrels

There are more than 30 closed study carrels and over 20 open study carrels in the library, located on both the 3rd and 4th floors. These are available during regular hours, on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Meeting Rooms

    Ideal for study groups!

    4th Floor: Rooms 404, 405, 407, 408

Reserve a meeting room online, by calling 296-6222, or in person at the library. Please make your reservation 48 hours in advance of when you need to use the space.

Room Reservations are temporarily suspended and will resume the week of September 8.

If a projector or other audio/visual/computer equipment is needed in the meeting room, please contact Classroom Support at 296-5571.

  • Reading Room

Located on the 1st floor, this large study area is for individual and group study. The Reading Room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • Comfortable seating areas
There are various areas with soft chairs on the 3rd and 4th floors.
  • Tables with space to work
These are available in many areas of the library -- check out our library maps.
  • Disabled access
We also have a large closed-door study carrel on the 3rd floor (Room 331C).
