Applied Laboratory Experience

  • Sport & Exercise Science Applied Laboratory Experience

    In order to enable SPEX majors to be successful during their internships, SPEX majors are required to engage in a year-long Applied Laboratory Experience program fall, winter, and spring quarters of their junior year associated with SPEX 3120, SPEX 3130, SPEX 3210, SPEX 3220, SPEX 3310. 

    NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER FOR THE APPLIED LABORATORY EXPERIENCE, AS IT IS PART OF THE COURSES LISTED ABOVE 

    The Applied Laboratory Experience provides practical application of nutritional analysis, muscle identification and function during exercise, metabolic and biomechanical test data analysis, and exercise prescription across the continuum of movement capabilities, acute and chronic conditions.    

    SPEX majors will be referred to internships based on their performance in the Applied Laboratory Experience.
