Regular Volunteer Program
Each year the Children's Literacy Project places over 300 volunteers in our partner schools. These volunteers support the academic needs of youth by providing one-to-one and small group tutoring or by assisting teachers in classrooms. Some volunteers get involved with the Children's Literacy Project because they are taking a Service Learning Course at Seattle University that requires community service hours. Most volunteers however, find the CLP through word of mouth. But no matter how they come to the CLP, all of our volunteers have a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of children and they are seeking ways to put our University's mission of social justice into action. In addition to our regular volunteer program, the Children's Literacy Project supports the needs of youth in the community through other unique programming.
